AI is a small group of "do-good-er's" who feel the need to be kind and who believe we should do our best in supporting the under-privileged in whatever way we can. The AI fellowship is a one on one mentoring cum teaching program for grade 8 students from the Belatur community of Whitefield, Bengaluru. These children have been taught by Teach For India fellows for 4 years so their educational attainment and value system even though might not be 100% at par with an average private school privileged child but is way better than any community child. AI is not a registered NGO but it is an independent project run by Anshima Gupta who has taught these children in a government school for two years during her stint with Teach For India. She has been supporting the students one way or the other since 2015. The fellowship is a 26 week program that we launched in November, 2020 to create a seamless experience for the fellows and our children. The AI fellows will be required to teach cum mentor children over a period of 26 weeks. Each volunteer will be placed with one child whom they will teach cum mentor over video calls with a minimum contribution of 8 hours per week. A week at AI starts on Sundays and ends on Friday, Saturday is considered a holiday. 1 hour of teaching is done on every day of the working week and the remaining two hours are used to test the students on what has been taught during the week.
