AKTINA Productions, Inc., is a recognized and well-established Queens-based non-profit and tax-exempt under 501 (c) 3 cultural/educational organization. It was founded and established in 1993 with the main purpose of providing radio and television programs, as well as live musical performances, cultural and folk arts programs that preserve and promote the rich heritage and culture of Cyprus and Greece among the new generations of Greek Americans and introducing these to the general audience. In this respect, the organization introduced and established in May of 1993 the first and only true bilingual Greek American radio series on WNYE 91.5FM known as AKTINA FM and in April of 2002 the first and only English language Greek American TV series known as AKTINA TV on WNYE-Channel 25 in New York and Ocean TV20 in Toms River, NJ. Both AKTINA FM and AKTINA TV are non-profit and commercial free and their focus is the promotion and preservation of the Hellenic culture, folklore and identity in America. In addition they focus on matters that relate to the Greek and Greek Cypriot American community, to the national issues of motherlands Greece and Cyprus, while both programs also promote and cover topics of wide public interest that pertain to life in America such as social issues, education, health, quality of life, etc. They address over 350,000 Greek Americans of all generations and over 500,000 people from the general audience.
