Nonprofit Organization Management - Sheffield, England, United Kingdom
Serving needy communities in the developing world since 1983 as part of a wide network of agencies, ATI registered its UK branch with the Charity Commission in 2006. Times are changing and needs are growing. We are required to get to the most vulnerable in society with a full complement of resources faster now than ever before due to an escalation of wars and natural disasters – many of which are targeting the Muslim world.A UK fundraising and support branch was opened in order to help achieve this. Our people were there in Bam during the catastrophic earthquake and they were one of the first mobilised units in Kashmir, helping to pull live and dead bodies from the rubble. Subsequently we have been active on the ground during the Bangladesh and Burma floods, Gaza conflict and the SWAT valley displacement, floods in Pakistan, Earthquakes in Haiti and Japan.Longer term programmes are designed in close alignment with the UN Development Goals - their focus is to help eradicate hunger, provide education, promote gender equality, reduce child mortality, improve maternal health, combat disease and ensure environmental sustainability.
