Founded* in March 2016, Alaap is an organisation of self-driven individuals who share a love for the Himalayas and its people. Our vision is a Himalaya where nature and communities thrive in harmony. Our mission is to facilitate collective action for conservation of forests; enable legal empowerment and advocacy; and create opportunities for context based education and sustainable livelihoods. Stationed in village Satkhol in district Nainital we will be working in the wider region of rural Kumaon. *We are currently in the process of registration as a not-for-profit company under s.8 of Companies Act 2013.Edit
