Delta has grown from its farming and fishing roots to a vibrant family-friendly group of communities including North Delta, Ladner and Tsawwassen that are known for their many parks, trails and waterfront activities. Boasting a higher than average household income, expansive agricultural lands, growing industrial areas and many outdoor activities, Delta offers room to grow, work and play. Sunshine Hills, Panorama Ridge and Canterbury Heights are a few of the neighborhoods in North Delta that enjoy the numerous parks and green spaces that this bedroom community offers. Well known Burns Bog and Watershed Park also provide abundant walking and biking trails for families to enjoy. Ladner is located to the south of the Fraser River, with its many islands and open farmlands to enjoy - including Westham Island which hosts a large bird sanctuary, numerous organic farms and well-loved berry farms. Ladner Village, is at the heart of this heritage community, with a town clock, wide boulevards, open-air cafes and shops. Tsawwassen is situated on the northern end of a peninsula with recreational access to Boundary Bay at Centennial Park and includes extensive bike and foot paths running along the edge of the bay, known as the Dyke. Surrounding the coastline of Tsawwassen are the luxurious waterfront neighborhoods of Beach Grove, Boundary Bay and Tsawwassen Beach. Situated in the uplands of Tsawwassen the neighbourhoods of Pebble Hill, English Bluff and The Village also boast amazing view properties of the Strait of Georgia, Boundary Bay and Mt. Baker. Known to locals as "Sunny Tsawwassen," this community has a 40% drier climate than other parts of the lower mainland.
