After 6 seasons it promoted to Zone A, where played for 3 more years. Finally, in 1969 club's and supporters' dreams came true - managed by Andrey Zazroyev Alania qualified to play in USSR major league.The most successful period of club's life fell on 1990-s, when Alania twice became Vice-champion in Russia and finally won the Russian League in a heavy clash with Spartak Moscow in 1995. That was the first time non-Moscow club triumphed in Russia.
