Albanian Film Association Details
The AFA is a community organization whose purpose is to bring the best of Albanian film to Toronto audiences. Despite our small size we have made great contributions to the world, and the world of filmmaking is no exception. In recent years Albanian language short films from Kosovo, Albania, and abroad have made powerful impressions in the international festival circuit. New and unique voices have emerged on screen, presenting stories that touch and inform and that are now reaching wider audiences. We thought it only right to bring these films to our home in Canada not only for the Albanian community, but also for the general public. We wish to present this renaissance of Albanian film and to give Albanian filmmakers an even wider audience with whom to share their work.AFA regularly hosts various screenings and community events in the city of Toronto, most notably the Albanian Short Film Festival where every November we celebrate Albanian short films.
