At Alectro, we design and build solar solutions which allow us to produce solar power with a lower cost of land. By implementing our solar modules, power can be generated on land leased from railroads, oil & gas pipelines, and other right-of-ways. We are currently working on getting investment for our pilot project in Connecticut. Because land in Connecticut is very constrained and the cost of electricity is high ($0.22/kWh), installing solar panels along the railway is the ideal solution. Our initial consumers are industrial facilities which are nearby the railway, electrified rail operators, and the electrical grid. Alectro is the best of both worlds - we capture the land-use efficiency of rooftop solar and the cost efficiency of large, utility-scale solar farms.
