At alepreda we believe that good design is powerful: it enhances our experience of place, supports our daily rituals and inspires new interactions with the spaces and people surrounding us. We recognize that every project is a complex undertaking addressing competing forces and we strive to imbue each solution with these values: clarity, conciseness, light-heartedness and sensitivity - to the user, the context and the environment.Alepreda is a multidisciplinary architecture and design practice, whose field of operation, spans in scale "from the teaspoon to the city". From our Brooklyn workshop, we participate in the production of custom components, furniture, interiors, buildings, and maintain an international outlook with projects currently in the US, Italy and the Czech Republic. Our sister company, miduny, produces furniture and objects at the intersection of industrial production and artisanal craftsmanship. We believe that the act of making- the translation of ideas into physical form- is a source of knowledge. We maintain a holistic process in which research, design and construction iteratively inform one-another. Our studio layout exemplifies this philosophy and comprises an open office where ideas are generated and drawn, a state-of-the-art digital fabrication shop where mock-ups and prototypes are built, and a research and material depository where we catalog our knowledge. With our work, we aspire to engage in the discourse on technology, materiality, form and construction delivery methodologies.
