Hi, I'm Julia! (she/her)I help people build self-compassion and make meaningful life changes.I created Aligned Life Therapy to help people heal, find peace and live a life they love. People come to me when they feel anxious, dissatisfied, and disconnected from the life they desire. They may be facing a life transition or relationship difficulties. Or, they might be having difficulty coping with feelings of conflict, loneliness, sadness, emptiness, anxiety, anger or low-self esteem. Many are introverts at heart and may struggle with comparing themselves to others. What they all have in common is that they are ready to make changes and break away from old patterns.I emphasize self compassion as a foundation of my practice. I am passionate about giving others the non-judgemental support they need, and helping to point out their strengths. Clients working with me will find a curious and empathic listening ear and a realistic, down to earth collaborator in their therapy journey. I believe you have innate wisdom and an intrinsic drive for personal growth that is unique to you. I approach every client through a trauma-informed, systemic and social justice lens. My practice is affirming of all intersecting identities and I work collaboratively with clients to make sense of the bigger picture. As a marriage and family therapist by training, I am especially interested in how your experiences growing up shaped you. In my work, I draw from acceptance and commitment therapy, trauma-informed CBT, emotion focused therapy, narrative therapy and humanistic/existential therapies to help you move toward a more fulfilling life.I believe therapy can help you to know yourself deeply. This can lead to developing healthy relationships and a meaningful, satisfying and well balanced life. I know reaching out can be difficult.
