Rudolph and Sophia van der Meulen established Alinea in 2019, an international architecture and interior design firm specializing in luxury residences, boutique hotels, lodges, and apartments. With the joint experience of over 30 years in the luxury built environment under Nico van der Meulen Architects, both Rudolph and Sophia's passion for design has driven them to continuously challenge the status quo. Their confluence of unique in-house skills consisting of architecture, interior design, and decor procurement has enabled them to offer turnkey design solutions from inception to closeout. Alinea's commercial, technical, and emotional understanding of bespoke luxury design is what differentiates them from most residential architecture practices. Their interests stretch beyond architecture into fields of food, travel, and design as they are always in search of the ultimate user experience. Alinea has a unique and excellent ability to understand and implement their client's briefs.With a presence in both Spain and South-Africa, they focus on the African continent.
