Alison Austin is a respected community leader who works to support local families and create access to opportunity. Alison Austin is running for City Commission because District 5 needs leadership we can trust. As city commissioner, she will provide vision that brings us together and moves our District forward. Alison Austin was born and raised in District 5. Alison learned about the importance of a strong education and passing that knowledge onto others from her parents, Helen & Alphonso Austin. Alison attended Dade county public schools in District 5 and received her degrees in communications and hospitality. She hosted a TV show about important issues in the community and went on to work on issues of sustainable development in Caribbean and Latin American countries. Alison returned to Liberty City to raise her family with her husband Khary. Her daughter Imani is a proud graduate of Miami Northwestern. She works as the CEO of the Belafonte TACOLCY center to provide opportunities to children and families, which make our community safer and stronger.
