In 2019 the shipping company Alizés, Joint Venture between Zéphyr & Borée and JIFMAR Offshore Services, won a tender process launched by ArianeGroup to ensure the maritime transport service of Ariane 6 launcher. For this purpose, Alizés decided to construct a new generation vessel specially designed for the transport requirements of Ariane 6.Developed in partnership with naval design office VPLP Design, this hybrid ship measuring 121 meters will be named Canopée.To face the current environmental issues, this vessel will be fitted with four articulated Oceanwings of 1,450 m2 which will reduce fuel consumption by 30%.Alizés chose the Dutch shipyard Neptune to build the ship. Canopée's first rotation is scheduled for the end of 2022.
