~providing Christian Counseling in a safe and caring environment~ People desire to experience joyful lives and possess personal strengths that help them find solutions to the challenges that they face. I approach counseling as a shared journey where clients and I work together on a treatment plan to identify and construct desired change. Counseling approaches I employ include family systems, structural, solution-focused and narrative therapies. With a Master of Arts in the Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) from George Fox University, and over 800 clinical hours of MFT internship experience, my formal MFT education has prepared me to counsel individuals, couples, families, and groups. I hold a Bachelor of Education degree from Union College and have been a classroom teacher, mentor and supervisor in the educational field for over 25 years. My areas of expertise include family concerns and teen issues such as socialization skills, self-esteem concerns, depression, and anxiety. Group therapy sessions for teens struggling with divorce, grief and school anxiety issues are offered through out the year. I also offer premarital and marriage counseling.
