With national programs in fatherhood and entrepreneurship that have served over 1,700 participants across the country, the mission of the foundation is to: 1) Restore a strong family unit, 2) Provide economic empowerment through entrepreneurship, 3) Encourage education and life skill development, and 4) Enhance spiritual growth. The "Father Knows Best" Basketball Retreat & FISLL Curriculum provides a unique combination of basketball and relationship building activities for fathers and children, and mentors and mentees emphasizing leadership, communication, and the importance of spending quality time together. This program has served more than 1,500 participants in New York, Detroit, Atlanta, Dallas and Louisville - see video in service description page.The Business Education and Development Programs offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity for entrepreneurial advancement where aspiring entrepreneurs receive six months of education, training, mentoring and incubation support to launch their business. This program has served about 180 participants in Harlem and New Orleans - see video in service description page.Through the success of these programs, Allan was named "Father of the Year" by the National Fatherhood Initiative in 2007, "Social Entrepreneur of the Year" by Tulane University in 2008, and received the President's Council on Service and Civic Engagement Award from the Obama Administration in 2011.
