The Allegheny County Family Resource Guide is the only comprehensive compilation of services and systems available to Allegheny County families of children ages birth-21 with developmental delays, special health care needs or disabilities.With a newly launched and redesigned website (www.familyresourceguide.org) the guide is published by The Information Collaborative, a membership group of local organizations that serve children and families. The mission of the group is to ensure the availability of an updated, comprehensive, print- and electronic-format guide free of charge to Allegheny County families. The Family Resource Guide provides:-Complete, accurate and consistent information about all resources available to families;-Family-friendly format and language;-Educational tools for case managers/service providers working with families;-"How to" information for all the systems families may need;-Improved family access to providers and services;--Model tools for improving communication between families and service providers.
