Education Management - , ,
I have lived my life backwards ...with a purpose. I received a B.A. in Leadership and a minor in Economics, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Bellevue University. But not until I raised my seven children, part of the time as a single parent. I moved towards my own educational goals and public service. I currently serve as a school board member and legislative representative (GRN) for Ogallala Public Schools. In addition to the aforementioned, I discovered my passion for education after traveling around the world and visiting schools in many countries. Moreover, I have had the opportunity to visit schools across the United States as well as across Nebraska through the Nebraska LEAD program. As a student of economics I understand the relationship between education and economic well- being. Although it has been said that American schools are lagging on a global scale, Nebraska's goal is to provide an exemplary education that will allow our students to be competitive in the world market. Critical thinking skills and a good education go hand-in-hand. I believe to truly educate students it is vital to participate in the process.
