The Alliance for Finance is the only UK federation of trade unions, staff associations, and employee organisations which represents workers in the UK financial services industry. The AfF, along with all of our affiliate organisations want a vibrant and successful financial services industry in the UK. An industry that secures jobs in the UK, respects workers, protecting their rights and rewards fairly.The Alliance for Finance is an independent confederation of trade unions, employee representative bodies and staff associations. Member organisations represent over 200,000 people working the in UK financial services across all areas. The AfF is registered with the certification office as an independent trade union.The Alliance was formed in 1996 by a partnership between a number of trade unions, employee representative organisations and staff associations that were active within the UK financial services industry at the time. We aim to:Work together to promote and protect the jobs, working conditions, pay and benefits of financial services workersEngage with the UK and Scottish Parliaments and the Welsh and Northern Ireland Assemblies, Department of Work and Pensions, HM Treasury, the Financial Regulatory Authorities and other relevant government bodies on matters of importance to those that work in the financial services industry Engage with and involve trade unions, employee representative organisations and independent staff associations in the financial services industry to co-operate more effectively with each other, the TUC, STUC and Wales TUCEngage with trade associations, the consumer lobby and those that have an interest in the future of financial servicesProvide opportunities for the training and development of employee representatives and to liaise and share information from professional development and educational organisationsIdentify and carry forward suitable matters for lobbying and campaigning.
