Allpress Espresso is built on relationships. Our success as a coffee roaster is down to the success of the people we choose to partner with – from our first café customer, to our staff around the world and even down to John, who comes in to our Dunedin Roastery Café every morning for a long black. Human connection is why we are here and it's the important relationships we create that steer us on the right path when we veer off course. We realise that sometimes it's as simple as connecting two people in a café over a couple of flat whites.Michael Allpress (yes, there's a guy) was inspired to establish Allpress Espresso after witnessing the specialty coffee revival in Seattle during the late ‘80s. Early on, our obsession with flavour saw a switch from being New Zealand's first coffee cart, to roasting coffee in the back of a garage and supplying it to cafés around Auckland City. We've come a long way since 1986 and today we're lucky enough to work with over 1000 independent cafes around the world.

At Allpress Espresso, we believe that building strong relationships is key to our success. We partner with people who share our passion for great coffee and work together to achieve our goals. From our first customer to our team members and even regular customers like John, who visits our Dunedin Roastery Café every morning, we value the connections we make. We understand that sometimes, all it takes is a simple conversation over a cup of coffee to make a positive impact. Our journey began when Michael Allpress, our founder, was inspired by the specialty coffee movement in Seattle in the late 1980s. We started out as a small coffee cart, but our dedication to flavor led us to begin roasting our own coffee in a garage and supplying it to cafes in Auckland. Today, we're proud to work with over 1000 independent cafes around the world.
