Did you know that YOUR financial support directly influences the level of fire and rescue protection available in our district? Did you know that over 80% of our department's $130,000 budget comes from our community's support through fundraisers and your generous tax deductible donations? Rutherford County provides us a generous $55,000 per year, but our insurance alone cost $34,000. With your support and our hard work we raise a very much needed $120,000 annually through various fundraisers including: fish fries, chili suppers, picture drive, and the supporting membership drive. So thank you for your support! What is the Supporting Membership and why did I get a letter in the mail? Annually we mail out a request asking for your support through our Membership Drive. This drive request that each household within our district donate at least $60.00 per year to supplement our operational budget. Do you support us? Did you know that NO ONE in our fire department gets paid? We are all volunteers. That means ALL of the money you donate goes directly to our department for operations and to purchase much needed equipment, maintain our fire stations, purchase and sustain our fleet of apparatus We are 100% Volunteer "Our Family Serving Your Family." We keep it simple and succeed in accomplishing this mission with a strong relationship between the department, the community, and local government. The officers and firefighters of the AFRD shall stay current with the new changes in education, information, procedures, and technologies that will enable us to handle emergency situations most effectively. The department shall also retain a good working relationship with the neighboring fire departments. This allows reciprocating assistance in the form of equipment resources and mutual & automatic aid coverage. It is our promise that we will serve our community with honor, and the highest level of professionalism possible at all times. It is the department's job to provide the best fire protection and rescue services for the citizens of Rutherford County.
