Alpinism activities with legendary Gary Dickson, NZMGA/IFMGA qualified mountain guide. Accommodation options at the Alpinism & Ski base "chez Iris" as well as art for sale by Alpin Iris Art.Trips with mountain guide Gaz include ski touring and backcountry snowboarding (in 2021 from around mid Oct. onwards), mountain guiding, alpine climbing, possibly an ascent of your dream peak, mountaineering instruction and specialized training, avalanche courses, alpine trekking, rock and ice climbing.Operating in New Zealand and the Southern Alps only now; we dropped our Switzerland alpinism adventures because of the global Covid corona virus crisis. We are staying put again for a fabulous Downunder ski season - let's stay positive! Sept./Oct. are the best months in NZ for ski touring and winter mountaineering, sometimes into November depending on snow conditions followed by summer mountaineering adventures from Nov-April.Alpinism & Ski also offer a charming independent 'eco' holiday studio-cottage, the Alpinism studio, available either all winter (long term) or short term from October -May. Obviously closed by the virus season, we'll see how the world will go on, just inquire if we are open for business. The studio is also available on Airbnb (sometimes) but at least you can see the slide show there.Further homestay options in the climbers room or the honeymoon room and we even have a super charming tiny house. No promises though, just inquire first please.This winter 2021, chief guide Gaz will be ski patrol at Cardrona and ski touring trips are possible in Oct. sometime.
