The Alternative Learning Centre (ALC) is the first of its kind in Lagos, Nigeria. We offer learning programs, with a focus on developing skills which are much needed in the 21st Century, for children between the ages of 1.5 - 11 years old. Our programs are designed to nurture and develop skills and characteristics such as innovation, collaboration, leadership, creativity, resilience, flexibility and confidence as well as traditional skills including numeracy and literacy. We are advocates of child-led learning and so children at the ALC are given the opportunity to take charge of their learning, nurturing their curiosity and personal leadership. These life skills encourage independence and interdependence, competence and readiness for the world in which children are growing up in.
