Because we are makers, creators, designers, writers, philosophers (and much, much more), Alt Labs is where we imagine, experiment, prototype, and push creative boundaries. Since 2016, we have worked closely with U.S. and international organizations helping them solve problems at the intersection of design, communication, and security. With each conversation, each engagement, and each project, our ability - and desire - to tackle complex challenges has grown.Our strategy work is focused within the ecosystem of existential threats and peace and security issues. This system is filled with obstacles, inertia, myths, injustice, and….opportunity for change. Because of the uniqueness of this landscape, including its complex subject matter, we prize collaboration. We seek projects and partners that enable us to utilize our skills and experiences to find new ways of making existential threats more "proximate," to imagine new and better futures, and to bring new audiences into the conversation. We have proudly worked with a range of collaborators, partners, and clients, including the International Atomic Energy Agency, the Nuclear Threat Initiative, Sandia National Labs, the United States Military Academy at West Point, the U.N. Innovation Cell, and more.We are a collective in its truest sense, with a vast range of skills, professions, and experiences. Individually, we have flown combat helicopters in the US military, had our work showcased at the National Design Museum, worked for globally recognized brand agencies, written newspaper columns, authored books related to U.S. history, practiced law, created documentary films, and worked for countless clients in a wide range of creative capacities.
