Civic & Social Organization - Lod, Center District, Israel
Established in 1983, Aluma aims to create sustainable social change processes that contribute to the strength of Israeli society. By providing information, advice, and guidance, we encourage young people in Israel to join circles of activity and centers of influence, while staying true to the unique identities, values, and lifestyles they each hold. Through deep partnership with the Israeli government as well as philanthropic foundations, Aluma encourages young people from the social and geographic periphery to acquire life skills and strive for excellence. We aim to see them integrated into meaningful service, higher-education, and gainful employment that are appropriate to their education level.Aluma's activities include programming with more than 40,000 youth each year, in approximately 100 localities, 36 boarding schools and youth villages, and 20 academic institutions.
