The Alzheimer's Association is the premier source of information and support for the 5.4 million Americans with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. The national organization was founded in 1980 as a non-profit organization and is the largest private supporter of Alzheimer's research, as well as the premier national voluntary not-for-profit organization dedicated to the fight against Alzheimer's disease.The Alzheimer's Association, Eastern North Carolina Chapter provides patient and family services, information, education and advocacy to the 51 counties of Eastern North Carolina. North Carolina is home to over 170,000 individuals living with Alzheimer's and more than 415,000 caregivers, and we provide those affected by Alzheimer's disease with a variety of services including a 24-Hour Helpline, support groups and educational programs.
