Motion Pictures & Film - Westlake Village, California, United States
Amalgamated Pixels is a high-end visual effects production company specializing in complex computer generated effects for motion pictures, television and large format entertainment venues. A partial list of credits include The Matrix, The Cell, Blade Trinity, Die Hard 4, Get Smart and Over Her Dead Body. We are also well versed in the special needs of large format and 3D films like Tall Tales, The Journey, Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs and Shark Boy and Lava Girl. Amalgamated Pixels was founded in 1995 by Derry Frost, an accomplished 3D animator with a diverse background. Over the years, Amalgamated has grown into a successful company that in March of 2008 will be moving into a brand new 10,000 square foot facility in Westlake Village, CA. With over 70 workstations and 12 management offices, we now have the capacity to handle any size job. Much of this recent growth can be attributed to the wealth of new talent added to the Amalgamated staff. Recently we've added Jeff Wood, formerly of ILM where he managed over a 100 CG technical directors on films like Men in Black and StarWars: The Phantom Menace. And our latest addition is Executive Producer Bonnie Kanner who joins us after a very successful tenure at Pixel Magic. Under Derry's direction, Amalgamated Pixels has developed a fine team of managers, artisans and technicians who share his commitment to quality as well as his passion for pushing the envelope of visual effects artistry. We utilize a wide variety of software packages including Maya, 3D Studio Max, Lightwave, Project Messiah, Z-Brush as well as After Effects and Digital Fusion for our 2D solutions. This diversity of people and software allows us to tackle anything from rig removal to complex 3D animation.
