Ambar is an informal Gender and Sexual diversity awareness and support group for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning (LGBTQ) community residing in IIT Kharagpur Campus and/or officially associated with IIT Kharagpur, and consists of both LGBTQ as well as Straight Allies as its members. Our Mission is to : 1. Provide a safe space to the LGBTQ community people and allies where they can share their experiences and feelings. 2. To advocate for the rights and equality of Gender & Sexual minorities within the IIT Kharagpur campus by creating awareness to increase the acceptance of such minorities. 3. To help people discover themselves in a comforting and a supporting environment along with people who're going through or have gone through the same.
