The Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) International is a not-for-profit international association of the world's manufacturers of fans, louvers, dampers, air curtains, air flow measurement devices, ducts, acoustic attenuators, impellers and other air system components used in commercial buildings and processes. Its mission is to promote the health, growth and integrity of the air movement and control industry. Founded in the United States in 1917, AMCA has over 330 members worldwide and is expanding rapidly. The organization has an Asian division (Asia AMCA) and European division (European AMCA), which operate separately. AMCA members are largely manufacturers, but the organization also welcomes suppliers as Associates and resellers as Affiliates. AMCA members define our programs, help write standards and guide activities. Our members choose to compete on a level playing field, in which ratings of all competitors are correct and based on a common standard. AMCA operates its own laboratories in Chicago and Malaysia and has a licensed independent laboratory in Seoul, Korea, to test and certify the ratings and regulatory compliance of member and non-member products. AMCA laboratory services include ratings tests for acoustic, airflow, pressure, power and efficiency testing. - AMCA standards are adopted by the American National Standards Institute as ANSI standards and are written by open committees of engineers, experts and other interested parties- AMCA's state-of-the-art lab in Chicago is A2LA-accredited to comply with ISO 17025- AMCA Certification Programs will be accredited to comply with ISO 17065- AMCA seminars are accredited by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying, giving attendees the opportunity to earn PDHs.
