College/University - Wilmington, DE, US
American Beauty Academy was founded in 2000 by Edward L. Gillespie, its current day Owner and Chief Executive Officer. With only three other employees, Mr. Gillespie began the academy in a small building on the outskirts of Silver Spring, Maryland. Soon after its opening, James B. Roy took ownership in American Beauty Academy, and expansion began. Settling into its current and larger location in Wheaton, MD, the Silver Spring campus' move became a boon to the success and future expansion of the American Beauty Academy system of schools. In 2004, the Baltimore Campus opened on Harford Road in Baltimore, Maryland, where it thrives today. The two-campus system remained until 2007, when the academy crossed the border into Wilmington, Delaware and opened its first downtown location, in the heart of the banking district. Additionally, American Beauty Academy's corporate office relocated to the seven-story building in Wilmington, which anchors the 9th St. and Orange St. area, also known as the LoMa district. As American Beauty Academy continued to prosper and thrive, its next move crossed borders once again, reaching into Pennsylvania. The Lancaster Campus first opened its doors in late 2011 in Park City Mall, Lancaster County's premier shopping location.Executive Team:Edward L. Gillespie, Owner/ Chief Executive OfficerJames B.
