We are the student branch of the larger professional organization that is the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. The George Washington University chapter of AIAA is dedicated to the professional development of our members and to improving their connection to the Aerospace industry. Our organization began in 2011 as a division of another GW SEAS organization. In 2015, we became an independent organization and have since grown in membership and influence. 2017 was the first time we competed in AIAA's Design, Build, Fly competition, where in Tuscon, AZ, we attended the competition and finished 73rd out of 100 teams eligible to compete. We also have been lucky enough to have been granted access to aerospace and defense expos, aeronautical panels and attend events all around our nations capitol to experience the industry.We have continued to grow as an organization and now pride ourselves on our mission to provide our membership with a robust professional network, a host of technical skills and the knowledge of the industry to carry them into the workplace. We value the experience our members gain above all else and work tirelessly to improve the quality of our organization.
