Essential in our teaching philosophy is that when a student comes through the door to our academy they are now in "our house" and welcomed there with opened arms. For them to gain the confidence, knowledge and determination to speak English they must feel comfortable in their surroundings and this is a core belief within our community at ALC. Here at ALC we have always worked towards creating fun and relaxing activities during sessions that make attending "extra classes" on top of everyone´s already busy schedule easily manageable. We try our hardest to ensure that students leave after every class with a smile on their faces. Not sending homework and constant encouragement are a few more ways we get students to return year after year. We incorporate project presentations, music, film and theatre while seeking to take the focus off the language to make the process of learning as natural as possible in an academic setting. Over the years our staff has been consistently well-trained, friendly and loyal to our student population and their families. We have also maintained high standards of quality through adhering to reduced group sizes, matching levels and all this with very affordable prices. We do not pretend to be the total solution to your language learning needs, but rather a part of what is going to contribute to your eventual success. In a feedback session after two days of Trinity College speaking exams for the students in our academy the examiner told us – "I don´t know what it is you´re doing with your students here, but whatever it is, don´t change a thing!" Being "family-oriented" is first - caring for each student´s future with respect and support - is something we will never change. However, constantly looking for new ways to keep us all motivated to improve is healthy change that we all deserve.
