The American Singles Golf Association has its roots going back to 1992. It supports chapters in 75 cities and provides opportunities for singles to meet each other through local golf play and social activities. Over 45, 000 players have joined; many have left due to marriage. Each chapter is run by a volunteer staff including a chapter president and committee chairs for the golf, social, communications and membership areas. Chapters typically meet monthly, socially, and play golf 3-4 times together each month. The national organization hosts international trips to locations such as Scotland, Ireland, the Caribbean, as well as cruises and visits to Hawaii, typically every other year.
