The ASPNR was founded in 1992. The objectives and purposes of the ASPNR are to develop, foster, and support the care of pediatric patients undergoing neuroradiologic imaging exams and procedures. The ASPNR aims to maintain the highest standards of practice, research and education in pediatric neuroradiology throughout North America. Pediatric neuroradiology has been developed both as a distinct entity and as a significant constituent part of neuroradiology. Members enjoy a culture of close fellowship and frequent exchange of ideas as well as challenging cases amongst pediatric neuroradiologists and kindred pediatric and/or neuroscience physicians, surgeons and scientists.Close cooperation is maintained between the ASPNR and other societies or associations in radiology, neuroradiology, pediatrics and related neurosciences. As a result, the scientific programming of these related societies includes the dissemination of knowledge by members of ASPNR in the form of presentations of scientific papers, lectures, discussions and fora.
