In May of 1986, I started serving Individuals with Intellectual and or Developmental Disabilities as an HCS Operations Manager for the "University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center". As HCS Operations Manager, I obtained first-hand knowledge on how to implement a Teaching and Training Philosophy that emphasizes "Independent Functioning" (IF) for Individuals with an Intellectual and or Developmental disability. Ameritex Community Services, HCS / TxHmL seeks to implement a teaching and training philosophy that emphasizes Improved, Independent Functioning for Individuals with an IDD.
