Amrita School of Pharmacy, an integral component of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, is the first to start functioning among the schools under Health Sciences campus. Located in the vibrant city of Kochi, Kerala, Amrita School of Pharmacy offers training for one of the most sought-after professional courses. The School's commitment to excellence in healthcare is in line with the overall objective of the Kochi - based Health Sciences campus of the institution. The School of Pharmacy strives not only to provide quality education in pharmaceutical sciences but also to establish itself in research and serves as an ideal platform for the overall development of highly competent pharmacy professionals. The School maintains an exemplary clinical practice and conducts community outreach programmes that address the needs of Kochiites and the society at large.The School is housed in a self-contained five-storied building and is located away from the hustle and bustle of the main hospital within the campus, yet has access to all the clinical services. This optimal location provides a calm and quiet atmosphere conducive for learning.Once the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) recognised and announced the launch of the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) programme in 2008 all over India, Amrita School of Pharmacy, taking full advantage of its in-house hospital and the associated healthcare services, started offering the six - years Pharm. D. (Regular) and three years Pharm. D. (Post Baccalaureate) programmes from 2010.The two programmes were the first of their kind in the state of Kerala and the School's enrolment expanded significantly due to this landmark achievement.The gradual yet steady thrust in research has culminated in the registration of candidates for the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.
