The Amsterdam Chamber Orchestra (2010) consists of eleven international top string players. All of them men.They play in a very brilliant and extravert way,produce a great and overwhelming – yet warm –sound, are great stage personalities and communicators, look great in their fashionably cut italian suits and play the best italian instruments.Both their music making and their appearance exude a strong sense of luxury, endless creativity and ‘macho' power. The orchestra has its home in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw (it uses the 'Kleine Zaal' for both rehearsals and concerts) and will - from the 2011-2012 season - have its own concert series in the main concert halls of various European capitals. The orchestra has just signed its first three year sponsor contract with Prelum Uitgevers (medical publishers), plays some try out concerts during which potential regular members are being tried out, some auditions might be held in March 2011 and the vacancy of the Orchestra Manager position will be filled.Upcoming events:29th November 2010 - KidsRights Gala at the Ridderzaal in The Hague22nd and 23rd December 2010 - Two 'sneak preview' concerts at the Concertgebouw14th, 15th, 16th April 2011 - Bach's St. John's Passion in the Oude Kerk Amsterdam
