Alejandro is a freelance digital and Polaroid photographer based in the Chicagoland area with over 10 years of experience. His interest in photography began at 11-years-old when he learned that he would be moving to the United States and started photographing his surroundings and people as a way to maintain a physical memory of his native Colombia. Since then, he has photographed special celebrations such as weddings, baptisms, birthdays, Honor's induction, and graduations. He also enjoys photographing his family, peers, and colleagues to enhance their professional profiles or family portraits. His past work has been published in the 2011 Point of View magazine, a faculty-juried publication at Harper College and used as exemplary work to publicize for future submissions to the magazine. He was the Grand Prize Winner of the Amnesty International Photo Contest Winner in 2013, a contest open to all students throughout the entire Chicagoland Area. Most recently, Alejandro's UndocuTime, was selected as the cover of University of Chicago's Migration Stories Anthology – a collection of written artwork related to immigration that will be housed at 8 different locations throughout Chicago.Alejandro holds a Bachelor's summa cum laude degree in Psychology from Northeastern Illinois University, a Master's degree in Social Service Administration and Higher Education Administration Certificate from the University of Chicago. He is particularly passionate about increasing matriculation, inclusion and graduation rates of typically underrepresented students in higher education. While his professional interests are in education, he finds photography as his "home away from home". He believes in producing high-quality work at an affordable price to his clients combined with outstanding customer service.
