Mental Health Care - West Chester, Pennsylvania, United States
Welcome to my mental health therapy practice nestled in the heart of the West Chester borough. (A convenient, 15 minute walk for West Chester University students.) I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania who works with individuals, families, and groups,. People come to me because they are struggling and feel stuck. I specialize in working with adults and children/families who are challenged by anxiety, ADHD, or "Asperger's" but have experience with many different issues. My approach involves providing information about how the brain works, how to use it as your ally instead of an enemy, and how to find strength in the very things that challenge you. (ex: There are so many wonderful things about having ADHD!) I do this in the context of interpersonal relationships where we talk about things like identity and communication/conflict resolution skills.I also work with people going through a major life transition. I will help you to sort through your challenges, work with you to find insights that inspire positive decisions and changes, and help you to be patient with yourself as you work to figure things out.Working from a strengths-based perspective, some of my special skills are: CBT, CBT-I & (some) DBT, communication strategies, and "Social Thinking." I am also knowledgeable about: depression, executive functioning skills, role of nutrition/sleep in mental wellness, and parenting issues. I pride myself as being an LGBTQIA+ friendly therapist.Striving to create a comfortable place for my clients, my office is a relaxing, comfortably appointed space on the second floor of a charming, serpentine stone building, reportedly dating back to 1857. I love what I do and feel honored that people allow me to be a part of their journey, during some of their more challenging times.
