Ang Kalatas is a community-based newspaper for Filipinos living in the New South Wales area. Ang Kalatas is published monthly and distributed for free in the various Filipino communities and establishments in the following areas: Auburn, Bankstown, Blacktown, Fairfield, Holroyd, Hornsby, Liverpool, Parramatta, Penrith, Ryde, and The Hills Shire. The maiden issue came out on 25th September 2010 with an initial circulation of 2000 copies per issue. Our plan is to publish fortnightly and increase print copies for circulation by 2011.The newspaper contains news about the Philippines and from the Philippines. It keeps Filipinos in NSW informed of what goes on in the Philippines. It also has a community section on Filipinos based in NSW, Filipino organizations, and events organized by Filipinos. We also feature special stories about our fellow Filipinos in our "Kababayan ko, Ipinagmamalaki ko" section. Other sections are entertainment, lifestyle, food and dining and sports.Ang Kalatas is the only community-based Filipino newspaper in New South Wales that delivers content thru multiple channels: print, web, and online weekly newsletter.
