We practice traditional, science based medicine, but do refer to, and work with, alternative practitioners when appropriate.The Animal Medical Clinic was founded in 1979, located in the newly constructed Shepard Place Shops, in Carpinteria. The business had several owners in the 1980's before being purchased by Dr. Smith in 1981. Since that time, Dr. Smith has worked hard to improve and upgrade the facilities and services of the Animal Medical Clinic so that he can now provide the best medical and dental care possible.Dr. Smith has 20 years of clinical experience and is the only doctor at our practice. You will always be assured of seeing the same veterinarian at each visit, who will know both you and your pet. In addition, Dr. Smith makes himself available for after hours emergency consultations and can even make house calls when the situation warrants it.
