Education Management - Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
VisionAnjuman-I-Islam strives to develop a world class education system, in conformity with national policies, which embodies a culture of excellence and empowers Muslims and fellow citizens to contribute to a prosperous and strong nation and face the challenges of the changing times with confidence and strength of character. The Founders of Anjuman-I-Islam were pioneers of education in the country. As far back as 1880, Anjuman-I-Islam had presented a Memorandum to the Indian Education Commission emphasizing the need for: vocational, industrial, commercial and agricultural education; the importance of physical education; and education for girls. This Memorandum formed the basis of the Education Policy of then British Government. This vision of the Founders has been adhered to through the decades. Beginning with the first technical school for artisans in 1936, today technical training at all levels is offered at the M.H. Saboo Siddik campus, "a technical hub', and at the Haji A.R. Kalsekar integrated technical campus at New Panvel which offers excellent education facilities in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture.Similarly, in keeping with its mandate, Anjuman started its first school for girls in 1939 which developed into the Saboo Baug girl's education campus which today has seven Urdu and English schools and a junior college.Other areas in which Anjuman played a pioneering role were introducing the concept of kindergarten, providing mid-day meals to students and subsidizing fees of needy students. The number of institutions that came into existence under the aegis of Anjuman-I-Islam in the last century is unequalled in the annals of any other educational institution in the country. Alongside, it continuously aims to instill the students with true national spirit, an appreciation of Indian culture, values and languages, and a keen civic sensibility through inculcating Islamic values.
