Ankeny Community Theatre's mission is to enhance the theatre arts in and for the Ankeny community. Its board is dedicated to providing opportunities for meaningful involvement in all phases of theater for all ages, to present quality live theater to the community, and to encourage theatrical education opportunities for everyone.Ankeny Community Theatre was originally founded in 1981 by a group of civic-minded individuals who sought a more robust cultural environment within their community. The organization adopted its bylaws and articles of incorporation in 1985. ACT continues to create a valued level of cultural opportunity and community involvement for theater goers, theater members, theatrical talent, and resident families in Ankeny and the larger surrounding community.ACT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
