ABOUT Anti-Suicide Global Initiative:The Anti-Suicide Global Initiative is a non-governmental and non-profit making organization, aimed at creating awareness about the growing rates of suicide in Nigeria/world and its prevention among youths/adults. We re-orient people through our educational programmes/trainings about the causes of suicide which must times are outside manipulations by forces of darkness as some people may have claimed and warning signs for suicide. We show compassion and care for those who are in distress. We question the stigma associated with suicide, suicidal behaviour and mental health problems. We build sustainable suicide prevention programs through our collaboration with local and national resources. We also partner with the United Nations on Millennium Development Goals (MDGS), with particular focus on goal one (No Poverty), two (Zero Hunger), three (Good Health and Well-being, four (Quality Education), and five (Partnerships to achieve the goals). ASGI is registered in Nigeria under Corporate Affairs Commission and a registered member of the International Association for Suicide Prevention, IASP, Washington, DC, USA.
