We are an association which organizes and implements projects and events concerning Africa and the Middle East. An organization which is non-governmental, apolitical, and non-denominational, based in Lugano, in the Italian part of Switzerland. AOREP; Africa and Middle East, was founded in 2004 by Samya Fennich Andreoletti who is also the president of the organization and has received recognition of public interest by the republic and the Canton of Ticino. All the projects undertaken by AOREP aim for development and require cooperation from the local people, they intervene in the social and economic situation in the area, in education, and in the rights of women and children. Our aim is to help open the channel of communication between the cultures (between Western Europe and the countries of the Third World), allowing them to sow the seeds of lasting peace and eliminate inequality, poverty, hunger, and diseases. in actual fact, the activities undertaken here at Aorep all follow the view that intercultural communication is necessary for building lasting peace and the realization of sustainable development.
