apiNXT is a nonprofit organization that focuses on fast-forwarding shattering the glass ceiling for Asian, South Asian & Pacific Islander Americans across various industries, including tech. *At Fortune 500 companies, Asian Americans hold fewer than 2% of executive positions. *Asian American women make up only 0.3% of the total number of officers of large corporations. *Even in fields like technology where Asian Americans are perceived to be dominating the industry, that dominance does not reach the executive levels. Asians make up about 50% of the high-tech work force in Silicon Valley. However, they are only 8% of board members and 12% of the regions top executives in the Bay Area. *These barriers exist despite the fact that 51.3% of the Asian population over 25 has at least a bachelor's degree (compared with 29.6% for the general population) and 21.6% have graduate or professional degrees (compared with 11.2% for the general population).
