Apollos range of reflective foils are solutions to meet the increasing stringent thermal insulation performance requirements for buildings. The more radiant energy is reflected the less heat is transferred, our foil membranes reflect more than 95% of radiated heat. It is essential that insulation has a good thermal performance in summer and winter. When using Apollo's Heat Reflecting Membranes other qualities such increased living space, durability, and ease of installation are also achieved. Case study- Baeijing OlympicsThermo-Foil® ES was specified in the roof and walls of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Shooting Range stadium. Located in the Shijingshan District on the western outskirts of the city. During the games the outside air temperature was expected to be in excess of 35°C with humidity heading towards 90%. The Chinese engineers involved in the design of the Shooting Range stadium calculated that by installing Thermo-Foil® ES and sealing the buildings envelope using Thermo-Foil® tape, would reduce the air conditioning load by 30 to 50%. Thermo-Foil® ES was also used in the accommodation cabins for site workers, who were experiencing high temperatures and excessive humidity; the air-conditioning units were working flat-out for most of the day and night. Installing Thermo-Foil® ES inside the cabins reduced the requirement for air-conditioning by more than half with the A/C units only coming into operation at the warmest parts of the day. In warm and tropical climates, Apollo's HRMs are crucial in blocking out unwanted solar energy. When air conditioning is used, running time can be dramatically reduced when the building is installed with our HRM.
