Bridging the past with the present. Appalachian Interiors grew from our love for building and the incredible reclaimed building materials that we are privileged to work with. Being the fifth generation to continue the tradition of custom building I have been afforded great opportunities throughout the past twenty years to work on some of the finest projects along the east coast. Having a deep love of nature and the outdoors, it has always been difficult to see the waste involved in the construction industry and I've always looked for ways to curb the use of our resources which are being depleted at an alarming rate. West Virginia has a very rich history, which is partly why I settled here, that spans from its time as part of the colony of Virginia being surveyed by George Washington for the King of England, through its birth in 1863 during the Civil War, to the discovery of coal and the coming of the railroad in 1877 that fueled the Industrial Revolution of the late19th and early 20th centuries. Being the only state to lie entirely in the Appalachian Mountains with a very rugged terrain it had survived for thousands of years in a unique environment growing incredible trees that rivaled the giant Redwoods and Sequoias of the west coast. With the coming of the railroad and the need for building materials to fuel Americas growth, these once impenetrable mountains were now being consumed at a rabid pace with little regard for the environment or the future. The once bustling coal and timber towns are now ghost towns struggling to survive with many structures falling into disrepair and all to often torn down and sent to a local landfill. Our mission at Appalachian Interiors is to save these incredible materials, some of the last remnants of the virgin forest of the east coast, and produce these incredible works of art that compliment any home or office.
