AppSpark was founded in late 2008 by Kavin Bharti Mittal and Namit Chadha in their final year of a Masters at University to explore the possibilites in the mobile space.In May 2009, AppSpark launched Movies Now in partnership with movietickets.com, an iPhone application that allowed users to buy movie tickets on the go. AppSpark launched a sequel - Movies Now HD in 2010 and together both applications have been downloaded just under 150,000 times. Movies Now HD was featured on the App Store as 'One of the 10 Essential Movie Goer Apps'. Since its inception, Movies Now has risen to the Top Charts and has also been featured in many prominent online and offline publications such as the The Sunday Times, Gizmodo, Smoking Apples, CNet and plenty more.In December 2010, AppSpark decided to pivot and re-focus its efforts on a completely untapped and exciting space - food recommendations.AppSpark is well funded and is at a very early stage in its new venture. With a small but very smart, ambitious and talented team of 4, AppSpark hopes to pioneer the food recommendations space with its new service called 'bonapp'. It is currently being developed and will be launched in Beta within the next few months.
