AQfeed is an ambitious start-up company researching how to provide sustainable fish feed for trout fish.At AQfeed, we transform aquaculture waste into feed ingredients, through an innovative hydroponic system. Unwanted sludge from land-based trout farms is collected and used as a growth bed for the two main ingredients in AQfeed; algae and aquatic worms. By collecting and recycling the nutrient-rich sludge from land-based trout farms, we do not only solve the sludge disposal problem that many fish farmers have, but furthermore, we turn aquaculture waste into sustainable ingredients which becomes the base of our high-quality fish feed.
