Aquila Recovery of Virginia functions in partnership with primary care physicians. Every effort encourages early identification of heavy use or misuse of alcohol and other drugs by professionals who witness early symptoms. We devote intensive education to screening, interventions and referrals to primary care providers, pastoral counselors, HR professionals, Employee Assistance providers, and others who observe early symptoms. We protect the on-going relationship with a referring physician and practice. Our model establishes a respect for and knowledge of brain disease - particularly substance use disorder - at all stages of risk and dependence. Individual wellness plans are informed by medical examinations, counselor observations and client reporting. Non-confrontational and judgment-free therapies include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI). Clients are encouraged to develop community networks in education, employment, health, recreation, volunteering, and worship to help foster their change. Long-term relationships with community groups are encouraged, including - but not limited to - Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and Smart Recovery. Our recovery centers in Northern Virginia are held in high regard and we have strong relationships in place with other addiction treatment facilities, counselors, support groups, and community resources that will help ensure that you have the right treatment and ongoing support for your addiction recovery.
